Dortch, Secretary Federal Communications Commission 445 12th Street, SW Washington, DC 20024 Re: Motion for Withdrawal of Petition, Docket No. 99-200 Dear Secretary: Enclosed for electronic filing is the Idaho Public Utilities Commission’s Motion to Withdraw its Petition for Declaratory Ruling for the Release of New Area Codes to Provide Relief of the 208 Numbering Plan Area. Sincerely yours, Lisa D. Nordstrom Deputy Attorney General Enclosures L:dortch_ln BEFORE THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20054 IN THE MATTER OF IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION PETITION FOR DECLARATORY RULING for the Release of New Area Codes to Provide Relief for the 208 Numbering Plan Area ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) CC Docket No. 99-200 MOTION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO TO WITHDRAW PETITION COMES now the State of Idaho by and through the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC) and hereby requests the Federal Communications Commission (Commission) allow the withdrawal of its Petition for a Declaratory Ruling for the Release of New Area Codes to Provide Relief for the 208 Number Plan Area. In the Petition filed electronically on February 13, 2002, the IPUC requested the Commission place Idaho in the second quarter of the Thousand-Block Number Pooling Rollout Schedule, or in the alternative, to direct the North American Numbering Plan Administrator to release two new area codes to provide relief for the 208 Numbering Plan Area (NPA). Idaho’s need to implement new area codes has diminished because (1) the Commission placed the 208 NPA in the second quarter of the Thousand-Block Number Pooling Rollout Schedule in Order No. 02-948 released April 24, 2002; (2) Idaho has successfully reclaimed numerous prefixes; and (3) fewer prefixes were issued in the last year than previously projected. Consequently, the IPUC wishes to withdraw its Petition and thank the Commission for granting the primary relief sought by the State of Idaho. RESPECTFULLY submitted this 29th day of April 2002.
