APPLICATION OF GROUP LONG DISTANCE, INC. FOR AUTHORITY TO OPERATE AS A LOCAL EXCHANGE CARRIER WITHIN THE STATE OF IDAHO.
On November 14, 1997, the Commission issued a Notice of Modified Procedure soliciting comments and response to the Application of Group Long Distance, Inc. (GLD) for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to operate as a local exchange carrier within the state of Idaho. The only party to file comments was the Commission Staff.
Staff notes that GLD has been cooperative in providing information and although the initial Application was deficient in a small number of respects, GLD has corrected those. Final resale agreements with U S WEST and GTE are not yet available but filings with the Commission are expected within a short time. GLD understands that it must provide such agreements for Commission approval and make editions to its proposed tariff before formally commencing service. Staff recommends approval of GLDs Application.
