SUBJECT: APPLICATION OF EXCEL TELECOMMUNICATIONS, INC. FOR A
CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY.
As discussed this afternoon, I would recommend returning Excels application (without prejudice). I have had many conversations with Excels agent, Maria Cattafesta of Swidler & Berlin. In our last discussion on June 2, 1997, she had indicated that the organization was undergoing some internal changes and that the company would be submitting a new tariff within the month. I have enclosed a copy of an E Mail I received on June 9, 1997. Please note that Excel is merging with Telco Communications. This, I would presume, is the internal change
that Maria was anticipating.
