RE:TETON TELECOM TARIFF ADVICE TO INTRODUCE THE
BROADBAND SAFE & SECURE SERVICE OFFERING.
On January 4, 2010, Teton Telecom (Teton) submitted an amended tariff filing to its
original filing submitted on December 15 2009. This filing seeks Commission approval to add a
new service offering called "Broadband Safe and Secure." Broadband Safe and Secure is a
discounted residential service that is offered in association with Internet access service and
provides a maximum of 60 minutes of local and EAS calling. Teton proposes to offer this
service at $8.00 per month with each additional minute over 60 minutes billed at $.03.
Teton states that the rates for this service are above cost and was "determined by
reducing the (residential) local measured service rate by half, as a direct reflection of reducing in
half the available minutes within this service." The Company requests an effective date of
January 15 2010, based on the original issue date of December 15 2009.
STAFF ANALYSIS
Staff has reviewed the filing and accepts the cost information provided by Teton
Telecom. Staff believes the proposed terms and rates are reasonable and recommends approval
of this filing.
