Amick Mayor, City of Wilder 610 Canyon Wilder, Idaho 83676 Dear Mayor Amick: As I promised you at the public hearing last week, I have reviewed our files to determine why you did not receive notice. Our files indicate that the Notice of Application was sent to your post office box. Since no one from your office asked to be placed on the Interested Parties list, no further communication was sent to you. I have now remedied that and you are on the Interested Parties list and should receive all further correspondence and pleadings. The EAS case last year that resulted in Wilders present EAS calling plan was completed and closed. Therefore, while you were on the Interested Parties list in that case, the Commission Staff did not realize you wished to receive information in this case. While the Notice of Application is routinely sent to affected communities, if no one requests to be listed as an Interested Party, further information is not usually sent. Not all mayors request to be listed as an Interested Party. I am enclosing several copies of the handout the Idaho Public Utilities Commission Staff created for the hearing. You are certainly welcome to copy it and distribute it to members of your community. Please advise interested parties that the Commission will take written comments regarding this case until July 31, 1998. Any written comments that are timely will receive the full consideration of the Commission. You are also welcome to attend the hearing that will be held in McCall on August 4, 1998. Again, we apologize for the confusion and hope this answers your questions. Sincerely, Cheri Copsey Deputy Attorney General CC/vld Enclosure MAYOR DALE C.
