CT A- T -06-01. BACKGROUND On August 5, 2010, the Commission received a notification to cancel Certificate No. 399 transferred to Comtel Telcom Assets LP (Comtel) on May 11 2006 in Case No. CTA-06-01. On December 13 2005, Comtel filed an Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) and a Joint Notice of Asset Transfer of Comtel with VarTec Telecom , Inc., Excel Telecommunications, Inc., and Var Tee Solutions Inc. The Application was modified on January 5 , 2006, to request Commission approval of the transfer of Certificate No. 399 from VarTec Telecom, Inc., issued on June 17 2002, Case No. GNR-01-20 to Comtel. The amended filing included three new price lists and four revised cover pages to reflect the new name of Com tel Telcom Assets LP. Based on Staffs review of the Company Application, the name change documentation, the revised price lists, and revised customer billing information, the Commission approved the transactions. See Commission Order No. 30039. ST AFF ANALYSIS AND RECOMMENDATION In its August 5, 2010, filing the Comtel has indicated that its customers have been sold to Matrix Telecom. A customer notification was included in the Application to cancel Comtel' certificate. Matrix Telecom is certified to do business in Idaho and currently holds a CPCN.
