COX-06-1; APPLICATION OF COX IDAHO TELCOM, LLC FOR APPROVAL OF A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TO PROVIDE LOCAL SERVICE IN IDAHO On January 31 , 2006, Cox Idaho Telcom, LLC ("Cox ) filed an Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity with the Commission. In the Application, Cox proposes to provide facilities-based basic local exchange service in the Idaho communities of Ketchum, Sun Valley, Hailey and Bellevue. Cox is a Delaware limited liability company with a principal place of business in Ketchum, Idaho. The Company has a Certificate of Good Standing issued by the Delaware Secretary of State on December 3 , 2004, a Certificate of Registration as a Foreign Limited Liability Company issued by the Idaho Secretary of State on January 24, 2006 and a Certificate of Existence issued by the Idaho Secretary of State on January 26, 2006. The Company has provided financial information and a letter of financial commitment, as well as the appropriate contact information for its registered agent for service of process within Idaho. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that Cox s Application be processed by Modified Procedure with a 21-day comment period. This should allow sufficient time for interested parties to review the Company s Application and file their comments with the Commission.
