U-I072- ORDER NO. 19705 On April 19. 1985. the Idaho Public Utilities Commission received an Application from Century Telephone of Idaho. Inc. (Century or Applicant) requesting approval of modification of its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for service in the State of Idaho. Applicant alleges that in Case No. U-I072-12 it had requested certification of certain areas as part of an REA project.Century further alleges that the areas it requested to be included in its certificated area in Case No. U-I072-12 were inaccurate.According to Century the legal description in that case included areas that should have been excluded and excluded areas that should have been included. Applicant is requesting that Sections 25 and 36 in Township 21 North. Range 24 East. B.M. should be eliminated from Appl icant 's cert if ica te.In addi tion. Century requests that Sect ions 22 and 23 in Township 26 North. Range 21 East. B. M. : Sect ions 23 and 24 in Township 21 North. Range 23 East. B. M.: and Sections 24. 25. 26 and 27 in Township 19 North. Range 24 East. M. be added to Applicant's certificate.Century alleges that is currently serving customers in those areas it seeks to add to ORDER NO. 19705 its Certificate of Convenience and Necessi ty.Finally. Applicant alleges that there are no other public utilities. corporations or persons with whom Applicant competes in the area sought to be certificated. FINDINGS OF FACT We find the Company's proposal to be fair. just. reasonable and in the publ ic interest. CONCLUS ION OF LAW Century Telephone of Idaho. Inc. is a public utility as that term is defined in Chapter 1. Title 61. Idaho Code and is under the jurisdiction and regulatory authori ty of this Commission. IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Century Telephone I s Application to amend its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity be and hereby is granted.
