SUBJECT: CENTURYTEL FIBER COMPANY'S APPLICATION FOR A
CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY, CASE
NO. CEF-T-08-01
On July 24, 2008, CenturTel Fiber Company II, LLC filed an Application for a
Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN). The Company requested authority to
offer wholesale telecommunications services to other telecommunications providers within the
State of Idaho. After a preliminary review, Commission Staff determined that CenturyTel does
not need a Certificate for the services that it plans to offer in Idaho. Specifically, CenturyTel
intends to offer "wholesale facilties-based transport services and resale of CenturyTel's local
exchange service to other telecommunications cariers." Commission Staff contacted
CenturyTel regarding its Application and, on August 29, 2008, the Company voluntarily
withdrew its Application. Consequently, this case should now be closed.
