Dear Commissioners:
By letter dated February 9 2005, the parties advised the Commission that they wished to
pursue settlement negotiations in an effort to resolve the referenced case and asked that the
Commission cancel the preheaTIng conference and hold the matter in abeyance for a short time.
The parties agreed to report to the Commission concerning the progress of negotiations by
today s date.
AT &T and Qwest have entered a settlement dialogue and, although no conclusion has
been reached, discussions are continuing and the parties are reasonably encouraged by their
progress. The parties request, therefore, that the Commission continue to hold this matter in
