I wish to protest these increases and want to show concern for the elder who are on a fixed income and also younger families that may be priced out of the area due to inflaon or the housing market flare. My 79 year old elder neighbor expressed to me how concerned she is with these increases as they may eventually price her out of her home of 65+ years. If nothing else, please consider taking care of the elder and give discounts based on age. I appreciate you addressing this issue and I am open to discussing more if necessary. Thank you in advance, Shannon McElroy 208-270-8030" ------ [Open in the PUC Intranet applicaon] ---------------------------------------------------------------- From: PUCWeb Noficaon <Do.Not.Reply@puc.idaho.gov> Sent: Wednesday, April 5, 2023 7:01 AM To: Jan Noriyuki <jan.noriyuki@puc.idaho.gov> Subject: Noce: A comment was submited to PUCWeb The following comments were submited via PUCWeb: Name: Mildred Fackler Submission Time: Apr 4 2023 9:18PM Email: curt.fackler@hotmail.com Telephone: 208-343-0743 Address: 1614 W Victory Rd Boise, ID 83705 Name of Ulity Company: Veolia Idaho Case ID: VEO-W-22-02 Comment: "To Whom it may concern: I am 79 years old and have lived at 1614 W. Victory Rd, Boise, ID 83705, since 1964. I wish to protest any increase of rates for Veolia Water Idaho. Everything has gone up in price. Real estate taxes have more than doubled. Electricity, Sewer and Trash have also increased. Soon, if inflaon doesn’t slow down, I will be 2 priced out of my house. My house is paid for, I have no car payments, no visa payments and I have to say that I can’t handle anymore ulity rate increases. I fear for the young families around me and how they can possibly afford them. Yours truly, Mildred E Fackler" ------------------------------------------------------------ Name: Lori mayhew Submission Time: Apr 4 2023 10:41PM Email: for_my_business@q.com Telephone: 208-288-2660 Address: 10163 w florence ct Boise, ID 83704 Name of Ulity Company: Veolia Case ID: VEO-W-22-02 Comment: "I would like to protest the proposed 24% rate increase Veolia Water is requesng. I realize with inflaon everything goes up, but 24% is excessive. Veolia comparing the increase to a cup of coffee is insulng. Not all of us can raonalize shelling out $7. just for a beverage. Why not compare it to a meatless spaghe dinner with milk for a small family? The company is cing recent improvements to their infrastructure as a reason, but I think the upgrades should be considered just part of the cost of doing business. Also, as the city expands outwards, I think the developers should help fund a large part of the cost to extend ulies rather than place the burden on everyone else. I live in west Boise, my neighborhood is 30 yrs old. The water that comes out of my tap smells of chlorine so strongly and tastes so bad that I cant drink it. I have to buy botled water for drinking and use a Brita filter for cooking water. Also its very hard and leaves calcium deposits. Its been like this for years (prev lived in Meridian, I dont know if their water quality has degraded to the point of heavy chlorine dosing). I'm sure I wont benefit for the rate increase. Pay more for a sub-par product? " ------ [Open in the PUC Intranet applicaon] -----------------------------------------------------------
