Comment:As a residential consumer of United Water Idaho I want to go on record in strong
opposition to United Water Idahos requested increase of 13.2%.Their recent “Notice of
Application to Increase Rates”was to me nothing but a sob story of how tough things are,how
minimal the increase would be on consumers,and how much they need “rate relief’.I accept
none of their argument.
United Water Idaho is a component of Suez,a huge French multinational.The amounts I,as
a fixed income retiree pay to United Water Idaho are in my opinion already beyond exorbitant.
United Water Idaho already received a significant increase a little over two years ago,and I
am sure the expenditures they are using to justify an increase were strategically planned and
operationally budgeted years ago.I wish I could get a raise like the one they are
requesting.
I oppose this increase because I see this request as opportunistic,unjustified in terms of
the rates already being charged,and unfair to residential consumers.United Water
Idaho/Suez already went to the well a little over two years ago,and I am sure there have
been no surprises in their business plan during the intervening period that justify the
requested 13.2%increase.
Please do not approve this or any other increase to our water rates.Thank you for your
time and consideration.
