On 10/8/11 I received a . notice of application to increase rates i from United Water of
Idaho. What a disappointment to this conservative customer that my efforts to avoid wasting
water are going to be rewarded with a rate increase! And just in time for this year' s
scarcity of water, what with the low snow fall to date. I think that the state should examine
the way United Water is run as a businèss and should expect efficiencies that will avoid
these . fixed costs that need to be offset by the variable water volume'. When I bought my
house, I started receiving solicitations from a subsidiary of United Water, warning me that
if the pipes from the main line to the house burst, the cost was on me. Like I should be
responsible for the infrastructure that I didn' t build and cannot see! By the way, I read the
book, i Blue Gold i, about the intent to globally dominate the water supply, which is a human
right, not a commodity available to the highest payer. Suez Environment is not a beneficial
company operating in Idaho! The Idaho PUC needs to do more for the citizens of Idaho! No rate
increase!
