THIS RATE INCREASE IS NOT JUSTIFIED UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. 2) UNITED WATER NEEDS TO TIGHTEN THEIR BELT JUST AS WE THE RATEPAYERS MUST DO IN THIS TIME OF DIRE NEED. OUR COSTS ARE GOING UP TOO. 3 )THE IDEA THAT RATEPAYERS SHOULD COVER THE COST OF A NEW i CUSTOMER INFO SYSTEM' IS RIDICULOUS. THIS IS A COST OF DOING BUSINESS & THEY GET TAX BREAKS FOR SUCH COSTS. PUC SHOULD DENY THIS REQUEST. 4) WATER CLARITY IN OTHER AREAS OF THEIR DELIVERY ZONES NEEDS FIXING. MY TAP WATER IN THE NORTH END CONTAINS DIRT - -IT CAN BE SEEN IF YOU PUT SOME WATER IN A GLASS CONTAINER AND LET IT SIT. I AM FORCED TO BUY BRITTA FILTERS FOR MY COOKING & DRINKING WATER BECAUSE THE TAP WATER ISN'T UP TO A CLEAN AND CLEAR STANDARD. SO THEY NEED TO SPEND MORE MONEY ON IMPROVING WATER QUALITY EVERYWHERE. LET THEM FIND OTHER WAYS TO OFFSET ALL SUCH SERVICE COSTS. CONCLUSION: SAY NO TO THIS RATE INCREASE. THANK YOU.
