The propose rate increase desired by United Water is at best, too much and provides little
in the way of incresed service to existing customers. IIi ve in Columbia Village. I pay an
extra rate from April through mid October for 'peak water use' . United Water is the only
irrigation I have for my property and for my residence. I cannot control the weather but I do
try to conserve water as best I can. However for then to stat that the average annual bill is
misleading. My bill for the spring and sumer monts exceeds two hundred dollars and most
recently the bill through mid October was over $130, the previous bill in excess of $250.00.
I don i t get a 15% annual increase nor an average of 5% over three years.
With the economy in the ditch, nowe in not the time for a substantial increase. I have served
on thre Board of director and as President of the Columbia Village HomeOwners Association for
over 10 years and am well versed in the di fficul ty surrounding water issues as the residents
here pay for all water fo0r over 75 acres of common area. This does not include the Simplot
Sports Complex. I think it is outrageous to seek a 15.21% increase citing, power, chemicals
and depreciation. Neither I nor my 1750 neghbors get any increase in customer service or
added value for this requested the company's increase.
Please deny this request or reduce it to a more reasonable amount like 3%.

It is totally absurd for United Water to be asking for a 15.21% rate increase given the
state of the economy. Working people cannot even get raises and this type of an increase is
so out of line. I sincerely hope that this rate increase is rejected. Thank you for allowing
one to respond.

I would love to be able to have united water average my water bill throughout the year so
that I have one consistent payment. I have this done through Idaho Power, and don't
understand why you haven't approved it for United Water yet.

Alsco believes that an water rate increase of 15.21% is very substantial. We understand all
that United Water has invested in the infrastructure and technology but we also know that
with such investments comes savings in labor as well as other savings. We do understand a
rate increase. We are not denying that. We at Alsco just believe that 15% is way too
aggressive and if we put forth a 15% increase to our customers, we would lose at least half
of our customer base.
