I see that on 9/3/9, United Water Idaho (hereafter referred to as UWI)filed for a rate
increase of approx 15%.
It was somewhat ironic that, in the same mailing, a brochure was included for a program
called i UW Cares i - somewhat of an oxymoron, I' m sure you i 11 agree.
I have seen businesses and housing developments spring up around Boise and as these new
developments are put into service, I see my water rates increase . Quite honestly, I' m tired
of subsidizing businesses in this valley. In this case, I am making 7ß% of what I was making
in 2ßß6 (the last year UWI was given a rate increase) and don i t feel that a 15% increase is
ethical at this time. If a new business or development i s customers cannot pay for the water
they usê and the infrastructure to get the water to them, then maybe they should do without.
Please accept my comment as being a i no i vote for this increase.
