CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY NO. 143 NOTICE OF
INTERVENTION DEADLINE
CASE NO. UWI-06-
On April 26, 2006, United Water Idaho Inc. (United Water; Company) filed an
Application with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (Commission) for authority to amend
and revise its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity No. 143 , as amended. Reference
Idaho Code ~ 61-526; IDAPA 31.01.01.112. United Water seeks to add an area known as the
Trailhead Community to its certificated service territory. The area of expansion is located in
Ada County north of the City of Eagle in an area more particularly described as: a parcel of land
being all of the West 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 27 and all of Section 28, Township 5
North, Range 1 East, Boise Meridian, Ada County, Idaho.
On May 8, 2006, the Commission issued a Notice of Application in Case No. UWI-
W -06-04 and established a comment deadline. Comments regarding United Water s Application
have been filed by the City of Eagle, Commission Staff and United Water. Also filed were a
letter of protest by the City of Eagle and a letter from Kastera LLC, the developer of Trailhead
Subdivision.
YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that persons desiring to intervene in Case No.
UWI-06-04 for the purpose of becoming a party, i., to present evidence, to require rights of
cross-examination, to participate in settlement or negotiation conferences, and to make and argue
motions must file a Petition to Intervene with the Commission pursuant to Rules of Procedure 72
and 73 of the Commission s Rules of Procedure, IDAPA 31.01.01.072 and -073. Persons
desiring to acquire intervenor rights of participation must file a Petition to Intervene on or
prior to Friday, September 8, 2006. Persons desiring intervenor status shall also provide the
Commission Secretary with their electronic mail address to facilitate future communications in
this matter.
NOTICE OF INTERVENTION DEADLINE
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that persons desiring to present their views
without parties' rights of participation and cross-examination are not required to intervene and
may present their comments without prior notification to the Commission or other parties.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Commission Secretary shall issue a
Notice of Parties after the deadline for intervention has passed. The Notice of Parties shall
assign exhibit numbers to each party in this proceeding.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that discovery is available in Case No. UWI-
06-04 pursuant to the Commission s Rules of Procedure, IDAPA 31.01.01.221-234.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Company s Application together with
other filings of record can be reviewed at the Commission s office in Boise, Idaho and at the
principal office of United Water, 8248 West Victory Road, Boise, Idaho during regular business
hours. The Application is also available for public inspection on the Commission s homepage at
www.puc.idaho.gov under the "File Room" icon and "Water Cases.
YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that written comments and all filings concerning
Case No. UWI-06-04 should be mailed to the Commission and United Water Idaho Inc. at the
