As a concerned Boise senior citizen, I am asking the the pac 'deny ' United Water s request
for such a large increase in their rates. With inflation running about 3-5%, the 17.request is too excessive! United Water should put together a long-range conservation plan
and operating strategy that might incorporate ideas such as the ones listed below:
+ Actively work with contractors on using low water landscaping for lawns/trees, gray
water, etc. especially in new construction.
+ Construct a model home or display of some type that showcases the latest technology for
water conservation and low water landscaping. Maybe a j oint venture with Idaho Power!
The model home could be open to the general public, contractors, and also for school
children field trips.
+Oevelop better planning for incorporating impact fees to offset the cost for new wells
and infastructure for new subdivisions or construction.
