The City of Meridian filed a protest and sought further hearing on five of those seven parcels. In December 2005, the commission approved United Water’s expansion into the two uncontested parcels. The first includes the Cartwright Ranch property, adjacent to United Water’s existing territory and encompassing the Hidden Springs planned community, which anticipates between 1,350 and 1,450 new homes. The second is the Lexington Meadows subdivision, west of McDermott Road and south of Overland Road in Canyon County. That subdivision consists of 26 building sites.   United Water and the City of Meridian continued discussions on the five contested parcels and have now filed a settlement, pending commission approval.   The parties agreed that United Water territory would be expanded to include the following:   -- Road, between Franklin Road and Ustick Road.   -- The LDS Church at Linder and Columbia Roads.   -- The Iron Horse subdivision at West Columbia Road and South Black Cat Road.   The parties also agreed that United Water’s application to include parcels at Eagle and McMillan roads would be re-drawn so that it does not overlap with the boundary of Meridian’s area of city impact. They further agreed that United Water’s application to include the LDS Church at Eagle and Lake Hazel roads would be withdrawn. Finally, the parties agreed to add a parcel of land at Lake Hazel and Columbia.   In the second case, UWI-W-06-04, United Water seeks to add an area known as the Trailhead Community, north of Eagle. Since United Water filed the application, the City of Eagle filed comments saying the proposed expansion includes a development that is proposed to be served by Eagle’s municipal system. The developer, Kastera Homes, has contacted Eagle regarding annexation.   The commission is taking comments on both cases through May 31. Comments are accepted via e-mail by accessing the commission’s homepage at http://www.puc.idaho.gov/www.puc.idaho.gov and clicking on "Comments & Questions."
