I think the proposed rate increase by United Water is way too high. United Water is
apparently trying to use growth in the area and in their service area as an excuse for
this large rate increase. I , for one, am sick and tired of this excuse. I am willing to
accept a 3 ~o 5 percent increase. If the PUC feels they need a larger increase then
suggest they look at increasing the hook-up fees and charges. This way growth can pay
their own way. Growth should pay its own way in all the other areas , such as schools
parks, fire, police , and sewer. Please don't put another huge increase on everyone for the
sake of supplementing growth.
