I received in my statement from United Water Idaho notification that they have applied to
the Idaho Public Utilities COllllllission for rate increases. In IllY case this would be
22+%.
I am retired and only received 2.7% increase on my Social Security, $9.00 per month
after Medicare premiums are deducted.
I've written before when these huge increases have been applied for and I restate my
opinion that these utilities are monopolies and therefore think they should get anything
they want I also stated that if they were not and had competition they would have to do
what it takes to compete.
In my working years the company I worked for had competition and the stockholders had
to absorb many costs, if they were to pass them off to the customer they would lose them
to the colllpetition. Does the IPUC consider this angle in consideration of rate increases?
I speak not only for many retirees on limited incomes but for the working poor who can
make ends meet and have to look to food banks to help feed their families.
Please consider the impact on so many people of the only $6.00 a month average
Increase.

Comment description: I am disgusted by the letter received in my water bill this month!
What a joke to request $6,767,867 with rate increases up to 21.46%... does this company
think that we are made of money and that they can take and take and take till we could
care less what our neighborhoods look like, what we give our children to drink? I will go
wi th other products and have already started to do so at my own expense! I have a
neighborhood where a renter refuses to water the yard and so now it is brown and a fire
hazard because the bills are too high already! I take pride in my home and it will suffer
come watering time now due to the already inflated rates and this insane request for money
pocket lining, ceo grubbing, money hungy executives who will reap the benefits... believe
me the employees who do the real work don t get much of it!
