for a rate increase that the highest
Private Fire 21.55%.
We do not understand why the
Private Fire (21.55% proposed increase)
and
especially Residential Customers (21.46% proposed increase)
should be subsidizingComercial (19.56% proposed increase)
and thePublic Authority (19.01% proposed increase).
Water is Water and ALL USERS should be equally charged for their consumption.
We understand why United Water needs additional income (hopefully, it's not for their
French Parent Company profit)
The rate increase percentage should be applied equally across the board if it is
determined to be justified by the PUC. This comment should also apply to any other rate
increase decision made by the PUC relating to United Water s request.

Comment description: We have just received notice from United Water that they are
requesting a 21.46% overall increase which will result in residential user increase of
22.35% . This is outrageous!! Wages of workers in our area have not increased anywhere
near this % over the last 4 years since the last HUGE increase was approved. I have notwitnessed any conservation ini tiati ves by this company. We go to a restaurant and request
a SMALL glass of water, and invariably get a LARGE glass. As this company is owned by
France, I would suggest there not be ANY increases, until and at which time France decides
to step up and support the United States in IRAQ. To request military families pay such an
outrageous increase while fighting overseas in at best a slap in the face to all
Americans.

Complaint description: 22.35% rate increase when inflation is 2-3% and their business isexperiencing tremendous growth????? Only a government agency like the PUC would not roll
over laughing at the absudi ty of this. Unfortunetly these types of rip offs of the public
are now common within government agencies as the public is to stupid to care. As a retired
fortune 100 financial analyst this is an insult. Most growth industries are able to lower
the per unit costs to their customers, not require 22% revenue icreases to keep up. How
dumb do you think I am?
