FOR AUTHORITY TO INCREASE ITS RATES AND CHARGES FOR WATER SERVICE IN THE ST ATE OF IDAHO. NOTICE OF SCHEDULING CASE NO. UWI-04- NOTICE OF HEARING On November 30, 2004, United Water Idaho Inc. filed an Application with the Commission for authority to increase its rates and charges for water service in the State of Idaho. The Application requests a 21.46% average increase in overall rates. If approved, Company revenues would increase by nearly $6.million. In Order No. 29654, the Commission suspended the effective date of the proposed rate increase and established the deadline to petition for intervention. On January 24, 2005, the Commission granted intervention to: the City of Boise, Order No. 29674; the Community Action Partnership Association of Idaho, Order No. 29677; and Sharon Ullman, Scott L. Campbell, and Idaho Rivers United, Order No. 29675. NOTICE OF SCHEDULING AND HEARING YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that the parties submitted the following schedule to process the case. We adopt the following schedule: Date Action February 15, 2005 Public Workshop at 10:00 a.m. at the Idaho Public Utilities Commission s Hearing Room, 472 W. Washington Street Boise Idaho re:discussion low Income customer assistance March 1 2005 Deadline for Staff and Intervenors to submit discovery requests to United Water. March 23 , 2005 Deadline for United Water to respond to Staff and Intervenor discovery requests. April 6, 2005 Deadline for Staff and Intervenors to submit pre filed direct testimony, exhibits, and workpapers. April 14, 2005 Deadline for all parties to submit rebuttal discovery requests. April 29, 2005 Deadline for all parties to respond to rebuttal discovery requests. May 6, 2005 Deadline for all parties to submit prefiled rebuttal testimony, exhibits, and workpapers May 18-20, 2005 Evidentiary Hearing at 9:30 a.at the Idaho Public Utilities Commission s Hearing Room. NOTICE OF SCHEDULING NOTICE OF HEARING YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that discovery is available in this case pursuant to Commission Rules of Procedure, IDAPA 31.01.01.221-234. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the prepared testimony and exhibits must be served upon the Commission and all other parties as set out in the schedule above. The prepared testimony and exhibits must conform to the requirements of Rules 266 and 267 of the Commission s Rules of Procedure, IDAPA 31.01.01.266-267. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the service address and the exhibit numbers assigned to each party can be found in the Notice of Parties issued separately by the Commission Secretary. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Company s proposal to change its water service rate schedules is subject to the Commission s approval. The Commission may approve reject or modify the requested changes in rate schedules. The Commission may determine United Water s rates and charges in an amount other than proposed by the Company and/or the spread or allocation or relative increase or decrease in any rate or charge may be other than that proposed by the Company. The rates, charges, practices and tariffs of all customers of United Water, including those governed by special contract, are at issue and subject to change in this proceeding. YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that the Company has filed direct testimony of its witnesses along with their exhibits and workpapers. These documents are on file with the Commission Secretary at the Commission s office (472 West Washington Street, Boise, Idaho) where they may be reviewed as a matter of public record during regular business hours. The Company s proposed schedules of rates and charges will also be kept open for public inspection at the office of United Water Idaho Inc. (8248 West Victory Road, Boise, Idaho) during regular business hours. Interested persons may also view United Water s Application at the websites of the Commission (www.puc.idaho.gov) and the Company (www.unitedwateridaho.com YOU ARE FURTHER NOTIFIED that all workshops and hearings in this matter will be held in facilities meeting the accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).Persons needing the help of a sign language interpreter or other assistance in order to participate in or to understand testimony and argument at a public hearing may ask the Commission to provide a sign language interpreter or other assistance at the hearing.
