HomeMy WebLinkAbout20120201Customer Notice.pdfTETON SPRINGS WATER & SEWER CO~Hi _ i RECEIVED AM 8: 41l15-W-II-O J Januar 11,2012 Dear Utility Customer, In the summer of2011, the Teton Springs Water & Sewer Company (TSWS) was required to replace the pumps and motors in both ofthe deep water wells which provide the domestic water for the Teton Springs utilty customers. The replacement was necessitated due to a failure of the pump and motor in Well #2, and the reduced production capacity of Well #1. The ages ofthe pumps were 8 and 7 years, respectively. The total expense incurred for this capital replacement work on the wells was approximately $26,000. In September of2011, TSWS fied an application with the Idaho Public Utility Commission (lPUC) requesting authorization to implement a one-time assessment for the utility customers. The assessment is to reconstitute the capital reserve fund which was set aside for projects such as this as well as to repay the capital reserve fund shortfalL. The amount of assessment requested in the IPUC application for each utility customer is as follows: Customer Type Assessmeut 1" Single Family Residential $ 85.00 per customer 1" Multi-Family Residential $ 85.00 per unit (Lodge & Condominiums)1" Commercial $ 85.00 per customer 2" Commercial $175.10 per customer 3" Commercial $667.25 per customer 4" Commercial $850.00 per customer 6" Commercial $1,275.00 per customer This application is a proposal, subject to public review and a Commission decision. A copy ofthe application is available for review at the office of the Commission or by appointment only at the office of Teton Springs Sewerand Water by callng 208-354-0256. The application may also be viewed on the IPUC web site at ww.puc.idaho.gov. The application and other case information may be found by clicking on the "WATER" icon, then on "OPEN WATER CASES" and scrollng down to Case No. TTS-W-11-01. Comments are accepted via e-mail by accessing the commission's homepage at ww.puc.idaho.gov and clicking on "Comments & Questions About a Case." Fil in the case number (TTS- W -11-01) and enter your comments. Comments can also be mailed to the Commission Secretary, Idaho Public Utilities Commission, P.O.
