PRESS RELEASE
Troy Hoffman Water Corp that provides service to 147 customers in Coeur d Alene has filed an
application with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC) for approval of a rate increase of
142% for residential and commercial water effective July 1, 2010. We are requesting that the
fee for residential water be increased from $5.50 per month for the first 3, 000 gallons and
$0.60 for each additional 1,000 gallons to $13.31 per month for the first 3,000 gallons and
$1.45 for each additional 1,000 gallons. We are requesting that the fee for commercial water
be increased from $7.50 per month for the first 3, 000 gallons and $0.60 for each additional
1,000 gallons to $18.15 per month for the first 3,000 gallons and $1.45 for each additional
1,000 gallons. There has not been a rate increase for 14 years. It has become necessary to
raise the rates due to increased operating expenses along with costs incurred from needed
repairs and replacement of the main pump that were done last summer.
This application is a proposal, subject to public review and a Commission decision. A copy of
the application is available for review at the offce of the Commission or by appointment only at
the office of Troy Hoffman Water Corp. by callng 208-664-9858. The application may also be
