I have built several homes here in Stoneridge and worked closely with the ulity companies. Water hook up charges have been up and down over the past years. Currently at $3500 I would agree an increase is jusfied. I’m well aware of the increased costs, however an increase to $9000 is, in my opinion, excessive. If their costs have increased 20% then an increase in fees should be in that range, not almost 300%. I would also add that when they employed their own operator he did a great job and certainly saved the ulity a lot of money avoiding the use of third party contractors. We shouldn’t have pay for their inefficient use of labor. Thanks for your consideraon!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The following comment was submited via PUCWeb: Name: Ben McGrann Submission Time: Jan 4 2024 9:07AM Email: BEN@ACTUSPROJECTS.COM Telephone: 206-696-8239 Address: PO Box 531 Dover, ID 83825 Name of Ulity Company: KPSD Case ID: SWS-W-23-02 Comment: "Recommend hook up fees are based on a range. Either by residence square feet or number of restrooms/kitchen fixtures. Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and Condo projects over 4 units should receive a reduced hook up fee based on a reduced ERU calculaon of .5 to .75 ER. It is not appropriate for a ulity company to charge the same hook up fees for different types of residences that use less water/sewer.
