Comment: "Thank you for the opportunity to comment about Suez Water's proposed 22.3%rate hike. It is problematic on several levels. 1. COVID 19 has had a significant impact on the
Idaho economy and state wide employment. People are hurting. This is a poor time to ask for an exponential rate increase. 2. Our personal water bill represents the majority of our homes
summer utility expense. Unfortunately we are forced to irrigate with potable (Suez) water. We have systematically cut our irrigation consumption but the proposed increase would be
actually closer to $30 a month vs. the stated $6.61. As we approach living on a fixed income, this potable water expense is especially troubling. 3. The notice we received via a postcard is a
company sales pitch. This public relations firm copy which is short on information ie Case # and is a disservice to Suez customers. 4. Suez claims that they need funding to "enhance
service, safety and boost the local economy" Why? Company long term planning should allocate reserves for replacement of infrastructure. Having not done so is mismanagement. 5.
My long term suggestion is for the public purchase of this utility - like Missoula Montana. Asking Idaho consumers for an exorbitant fee increase with no promise of future bumps being
tied to a pricing index is wrong. "
