I am asking the Commission to consider that a 22.3% hike is too aggressive all at one time for consumers. State incomes have not increased proportionally with other utility, food, housing, costs, and this water bill increase will be a large burden on many Idahoans also struggling, especially in2020-21 due to the business closures and economic crisis related to COVID 19. Perhaps Suez could profit less on the deal and the rate increase to cover costs of theinfrastructure spread out over a few years. I realized that updates to the water system are needed and will be helpful, but this is a high rate increase. If this is in part causedby the fast growth of our community then developers of new subdivisions should be paying more of a development fee to fund the water system growth." ------[Open in the PUC Intranet application]
