I feel that water is avery important resource and needs to be kept under local management. Suez/Veolia don't not have a good record. Also, the price increases that have be stated are crazy. Eagle Water hassome of the best quality aquifers and I don't want our water mixed and overly chlorinated. Please don't allow this sale to go through. We have lived in Eagle for 6 years and have enjoyed our high quality aquifer water, that will no longerbe as pure when it is mixed with other water and chlorinated. Water is a valuable resource that should be run by a public utility which prioritizes local customers, not by a private and foreigncompany driven by profits. While we understand that there will be likely rate increases either way, we would like Eagle Water to be part of the Eagle Water Department instead to preservethe purity of our water." ------ Name: Deena Oppenheim Submission Time: Nov 8 2021 4:57PMEmail: querymr@gmx.com Telephone: 208-629-3281Address: 424 N Ever After Way Eagle, ID 83616 Name of Utility Company: Eagle Water Case ID: EAG-W-18-01 Comment: "I was among the first to express concern regarding Suez purchasing Eagle Waterand now I am among the last to hope for NO SALE to Veolia (taking over Suez): * I want the excellent local aquifer water to stay here in Eagle and not be co-mingled with surface waterand heavily chlorinated * I am deeply concerned that foreign owned Veolia has an even WORSE reputation vs. Suez and they are taking over Suez to become a giant controller of theTreasure Valley Water . Importantly, the facts/policies submitted to the PUC on the Suez deal are not even valid anymore given the new ownership. AND there was no transparency asoriginally promised. * I understand that whoever takes over Eagle Water, my rates/bills will dramatically increase AND if the behemoth takes over I will have very little sway in eithercost or quality --- the more locally owned/controlled the better * My mayor and city council promised us greater input and the ability to pursue other (better) options --- they reneged aftersecuring election. BUT if the PUC denies going forward with this horrid deal - we can at least have an opportunity to get what was promised Thank you for your time and wisdom " ------ Name: Arleen WinklerSubmission Time: Nov 8 2021 4:48PM Email: arleenwinkler36@gmail.comTelephone: 818-398-7660 Address: 1828 N Longridge PlaceEagle, ID 83616 Name of Utility Company: Eagle Water Co. We see no reason to have to pay our water bill to SuezWater, to a company that has more negativity because of it's rates and quality of water. We have not met a Suez customer that has any thing positive to say about Suez. We also stronglyobject to having our money end up in France as opposed to staying in Eagle. I ask IPUC to consider the fact that Suez is no longer that company that will be gaining control overEagle's water because their North American operations have been bought out by Veolia, an even larger French-owned company and the transition will be completed within the nextcouple of months. While I know our rates will increase under any new ownership of Eagle Water Company, I would much rather take this opportunity to add our water to the EagleWater Department. I'm very disappointed that the Mayor and City Council in Eagle settled the lawsuit out of court and made a decision not to move forward with plans to purchase EagleWater Company based on inadequate information that was provided by Suez and Norm Bangle without doing any independent research to verify that information, and they made thisdecision with no public input and no transparency. Thank you for your consideration. I worry they willinflate the costs and sell our water to other municipalities. As a company I am not happy w their record of responsibility when water quality is concerned. Their fee schedule hike is alsounreasonable and may cause undue hardship to Eagle residents. This sale is purely political and hasscandal written all over it. The water utility should stay within the city of Eagle and have the best interest of the users. I feel that the sale of the utility to a huge company will cause largefee increases and less service. We in Eagle don't want clorinated water." ------ Name: Richard Rieber Submission Time: Nov 8 2021 4:53PMEmail: rrtrrieb@msn.com Telephone: 208-695-6365Address: 1764 E Bishop Way Eagle, ID 83616 Name of Utility Company: Idaho power Case ID: EAG-W-18-01 Comment: "Dear IPUC: I am sending my comments in opposition to the acquisition of EagleWater Company by Sues/Veolia. As a retired water manager with the Bureau of Reclamation, I find it amazing that anyone would even consider letting a foreign company, such as Sues, take over a locally owned company. Sues is no longer the company taking over Eagle Water. I am very disappointed that the mayor of Eagle and the city council settled the lawsuit out ofcourt without input from the citizens of Eagle. I am in opposition of Suez acquiring Eagle Water because the majority of Suez patrons put up with heavily chlorinated water forconsumption. This is inexcusable! Please allow the city of Eagle to reconsider the acquisition of Eagle Water. Thank you." ------ Name: RONALD VIANOSubmission Time: Nov 8 2021 4:07PM Email: UMGRIZ1@HOTMAIL.COMTelephone: 208-861-3216 Address: 704 N NICKLAUS LNEAGLE, ID 83616 Name of Utility Company: Eagle water Case ID: EAG-W-18-01 Comment: "I encourage you to deny the purchase of Eagle Water by Suez. This decision should be put to the vote of all Eagle citizens. The current city council's only reason for sellingeagle water is because Avimore cannot provide adequate water for their home owners. Eagle residents should not be required to subsidize Avimore." ------ Name: John BertulisSubmission Time: Nov 8 2021 4:14PM Email: bertulis03@gmail.comTelephone: 208-407-1068 Address: 1634 E Stadler CtEagle, ID 83616 Name of Utility Company: Eagle Water Company Case ID: EAG-W-18-01 Comment: "The sale of Eagle Water Company to Suez is not a good decision. Many people that have Suez water pay 300 times what we pay now. This will really hurt the elder people ofour community that are on fixed incomes. We should be grandfathered in at the current prices. Hopefully, something can be done to stop this. After attending ameeting at City Hill I felt certain that the City of Eagle was against the sale and would seek to join all Eagle residents under the cities water company. The packed room was filled with otherresidents like me who were upset and opposed to the sale. There has to be another viable and fair solution besides selling to a company who is in the middle of selling their No. America holdings to yet another co. with another poor reputation. I fully expect an increase on my water bill but am retired on a fixed income and the rates that Suez presented were excessive and for much poorer quality water- comingling our good deep water with more chemicals. Other Treasure Valley residents I know hate the service their receive from Suez. Commission pls. stop this sale and allow for a better solution that will take into account the majority of residents who remain strongly opposed and feel powerless. These wells are open to potential affect if new and deeper wells are driven by an Eagle designated water company, whichever it is transferred to from Eagle Water Company. So, it is vital to monitor closely just how much water is being pumped. I write with concerns regarding what has actually been established as stringent restriction and oversight as to where the water goes, how it is used, and a hard scribed agreement that it will only be delivered for local use and not transported or piped outside specific, well defined, designated and agreed to boundaries. I hope all the terms of agreement can be made public, and offered for public review, being as water is a public natural resource." ------ Name: Susan Wendt Submission Time: Nov 8 2021 2:12PM Email: sylvester511@msn.com Telephone: 208-599-2727 Address: 734 N Caracaras Pl Eagle, ID 83616 Name of Utility Company: Eagle Water Company Case ID: EAG-W-18-01 Comment: "Dear PUC: The Suez application to buy EWC is a predatory acquisition.
