The Eagle City Council should have allowed the citizens to vote on whether the city should purchase Eagle Water Company or if a foreign company should purchase it. The City of Eagle should purchase Eagle Water Company. The foreign company, Suez, is being purchased by Veolia, one of the world’s largest private utility companies, and Veolia has a bad reputation for poor customer service and heavy chlorination of water. Do not allow the sale to proceed, the people of Idaho need to maintain ownership of their water." ------ From:PUC Consumer Comments To:Jan Noriyuki Subject:Notice: A comment was submitted to PUCWeb Date:Saturday, July 31, 2021 3:00:18 PM The following comment was submitted via PUCWeb: Name: Philip Carney Submission Time: Jul 31 2021 2:45PMEmail: carneyidaho@gmail.com Telephone: 208-488-0096Address: 1887 N. As a 30 year resident of Eagle, I have seen many changes and the one certainty we all have is that water is a finite resource. I have been an advocate of public ownership of our water and water rights and was completely shocked and surprised at the January actions of the Eagle City Council that could essentially give our water to a private company. We the citizens deserve our water. Once the water is gone, we're all gone. Please support the little guys like me. " ------
