It is important that a hearing on the rate increase and the apparent lack of
understanding of the responsibilites of a public utility by Hanson Industries be
scheduled. To assert that their lack of judgement over the past 20+ years should result
in a doubling in rate at this date can not be allowed. If they had asked for rate
increases over the past two decades and properly maintained the water system, there wouldbe no issue today. They neglected their investors and their customers and are now asking
the commission to levy an increase on a much larger population than would have been the
case had they asked for periodic incrases over the past two decades. Their mismanagementand neglect should not be rewarded.

Re. SLEWCO' s (Hanson Industries) application for a 100% rate increase..... a hearing isj usti fied for this. Hundreds of homeowners are affected including me. Since when does any
co. demand to be paid back for 23 years of operation? If they lost money, they need to
improve efficiency. If they are allowed to run a water co., they should run it
efficiently at competitive prices not scalp its customers. They let an old system get run
down in extreme disrepair. Not likely that it can even be repaired; this has gone on for
many years; most likely needs to be replaced. To threaten us by saying they want to wash
their hands of this co. is ridiculous. Likewise, a co. that requests a 100% increase
sounds like a co. that wants to stay in business. So which is it? In or out? If they
are out, then how do we get water? We want a hearing to be held. We have a right to
attend, listen, question and contest. A utility company cannot be allowed to hold ushostage in our own homes. Thank you.
