Dear Mr. Boyle:
Thank you for your letter of January 4, 2005 concerning the improvement of the Spirit lake
East Water System. We will extend the previous deadline for submission of plans for
construction until March 15, 2005. This should provide an adequate time for Welch Comer
and Associates to prepare a report detailing what they feel is necessary for the water
system and submit plans for remediation. Please ask 'Welch Comer and Associates to
address their analysis and subsequent engineering design to Mr. Gary Gaffney at the
Idaho Department of Environmental Quality office at 2110 Ironwood Parkway in Coeur
Alene.
We are aware of the complexities of the issues surrounding this matter and feel that a
more studied and thorough approach might better serve the residents of the water system.
