BOISE (July 17, 2015) – The Idaho Public Utilities Commission is taking comment through
August 20 on an application by Schweitzer Basin Water, LLC., for a certificate to operate as a
public water utility in Bonner County.
Schweitzer is a privately-owned water system serving a residential area at the Schweitzer Ski
resort with approximately 30 to 40 full-time residents and up to 900 seasonal residents.
Schweitzer’s water system includes 431 hookups and 75 connections and utilizes four wells, five
reservoirs, and more than six miles of distribution system with seven pressure zones. There are
no metered customers, so Schweitzer’s customers are billed a flat monthly rate.
