RE: Morning View Water Company - Rate Case Application
Dear Ms. Jewel,
Morning View Water Company requests a rate increase. Water usage is down with many users choosing
to not water their lawns during the summer months. The last rate case was insufficient to cover our
expenses and we have operated in the negative every year since. We will have to continue to subsidize
the entire water system with personal retirement funds due to the failure of the previous rate case.
We request that the new rate become effective by June 30, 2019. We feel this date is reasonable since
the commission is well aware of the challenges of our small system, as our company was well scrutinized
during the previous rate case.
We are facing 53290 worth of water testing this year alone, have had pipeline repair, and expenses not
considered in the previous rate case. Even with no pipeline or system failures, we continue to operate at
a significant loss, and cannot continue to do so.
