Name of Utility Company:Morning View Water Company
Comment:The comment made by the Morning View Water Company,in their letter to the Idaho Public Utilities
Company, dated December 19th,2016,MNV-W-16-01,stated “This flood has made is appear that we need to purchase
insurance for the three wells.”This statement could be further evidence of a company not adequately able to take care
of their business properties and their customers.Normally,an insurance company would pick up the costs for damages
incurred, with a minimum percentage being picked up by their customer.
I do not agree these costs should be included,as a viable expense,in the next rate increase request. The result would be
the full cost of the damages, and other expenses incurred, being passed on to the customer.Once again,it looks like the
customer is being requested to bail out the company for their poor business practices.
