MORNING VIEW WATER COMPANY
Notice of Application for an Increase in Rates and Charges
Morning View Water Company filed an Application with the Idaho Public Utilites
Commission on May 2,20L6 to increase rates. The Application is a proposal subject
to public review and a Commission decision. The Company is proposingaL00o/o
increase on fuly L,2016 for residents living on acre andlh, acre lots and a 50o/o
increase for the mobile home park renters. Metered water usage charges will also
be applied and are to be determined bythe commission. The Company's application
states the need for in increase of $104,452 per year. Rates have not been adjusted
for almost ten years.
Residents of one acre lots would pay $98.96 per month. Residents of th, acres lots
would pay $81.88 per month and mobile home park residents $48.61 per month.
However as an alternative to this rate design, Morning View Water Company is
asking that the Commission provide assistance in devising a new rate structure
based on minimum monthly charges and a metered rate for usage. Those customers
conserving water will pay less each month.
Morning View Water Company has made capital improvements that include a third
well and updating of the other two wells in the system. A loan financed through the
Drinking Water Treatment Facility Loan Account needs to begin to be repaid.
A copy of the Application is on file and available for review at the Company's
business office located at 3996 E 200 N, Rigby, Idaho. A copy is also posted on the
Idaho Public Commission's website at www.puc.idaho.gov. Anyone may subscribe
